Dr. James Smith

In life as in death, a man of science

Dr. Smith is thin, with thick spectacles perched on a reedy nose. He peers out over them, as though he has no actual need of them, and eternally has a clip board clutched to his chest.

He runs the Waukesha State Sanitorium for the Insane, and as such has little time for Kindred politics, Elysium, or the pleasures the night has to offer. He has not been seen off the grounds of the sanitorium since Theodore Roosevelt was president. His work keeps him there, he says.

He must be very busy.
